Lead Technician
David Lewis
With over 15 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry, David Lewis brings unmatched expertise and leadership to the Ultimate Bimmercare & Performance team. Specializing in European vehicles, particularly BMWs, but also possessing an extensive knowledge base that includes Mercedez-Benz, Jaguar, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce. David has spent a decade managing high-volume service shops while also serving as lead technician. His background includes everything from diagnostic work and powersport repair to heavy equipment service. David's journey began at North Marion High School, where he completed a six-year Auto Tech program and competed at the VICA regional level. Since then, he's held key roles across Ocala, including service writer, fleet manager, and shop leader, all while sharpening his skills in customer communication and technical problem-solving. Whether he's leading a diagnostic deep dive or mentoring newer techs, David's dedication, precision, and passion for automotive excellence set the standard in our shop.

- BMW E9 3.0 CSL
2. If you could daily drive any car (no budget), what would it be?
- Rolls-Royce Wraith. If money is no object, that's what I'm driving.
3. What’s your go-to tool you can't live without in the shop?
- My vast assortment of flashlights.

- Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance.

Owner / Service Advisor
Lewis A Defeo
Lewis is the founder and vision behind Ultimate Bimmercare & Performance, but his journey into the BMW world wasn’t through a toolbox. While he doesn’t work on customer cars directly, his technical knowledge and lifelong passion for performance vehicles are the backbone of everything the shop stands for. That passion started at the age of 8 in Puerto Rico, where Lewis was captivated by his dad’s best friend’s MK4 Supra, one of the first single-turbo conversions on the island. As he grew, so did his captivation with cars, and most weekends were spent playing Gran Turismo and flipping through tuner magazines with his cousin. The import scene drew him in with its creativity and spirit, but it was a rare silver E36 M3 with Vader seats and Motorsport wheels that quietly planted the BMW seed. Over the years, he became more and more fascinated with the brand, eventually owning several models before landing the one he truly wanted: a V8-powered E90 M3 with the legendary S65 engine. To Lewis, it’s peak BMW, a future classic and the brand's boldest expression of modern engineering. Despite working in a different industry, a chance opportunity led Lewis to a new path. He was offered a job as a service writer at an independent BMW specialist, not because of prior experience, but because of his genuine knowledge and enthusiasm for the brand. It started as a leap of faith, but he jumped in headfirst, excited to finally be surrounded by the cars he loved. The result? He excelled. The role came naturally, and for seven years, he thrived learning the ropes, building relationships, and developing a deep appreciation for the service side of the industry. It didn’t just light a fire, it sparked the ultimate dream: to create a BMW specialty shop of his own. Today, that dream is a reality. Lewis leads Ultimate Bimmercare with the same energy and obsession that brought him here, offering BMW and MINI owners dealership-level service powered by enthusiast-driven care.

Senior Technician
Michael Groll
Michael Groll brings over 30 years of diverse automotive experience to the team at Ultimate Bimmercare & Performance. His career spans both dealership and independent shop environments, with deep roots in diagnostics, electrical systems, and European vehicle repair.
Michael has worked with some of the most prestigious names in the business, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Bentley, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen and even Ferrari, performing everything from engine and drivetrain repairs to advanced diagnostics involving CAN and MOST networks. His time as both a technician and warranty administrator at multiple Mercedes-Benz dealerships sharpened his precision and knowledge of factory procedures. He also brings valuable customer-facing experience from his time as a service writer and advisor, making him a rare blend of technical talent and clear communicator.

- Bentley Turbo R! I'd be styling hard in that thing! It's a couch on wheels and it is fast!

- My MATCO Aviation wrenches! So many uses!
4. What’s a tip you wish every BMW owner knew?
- Maintenance is the key to any car being a great car.
